SAL Update No 21

Hello you lovely lot!

How are you all? I hope you’re keeping safe and warm if you have snow, or just enjoying yourself normally if not. Let’s get on to some stitching talk.

Here’s where I was last time..

Here’s where I am now.

As you may have been reading, new job, mystery blanket and snow have meant that I haven’t been able to throw myself in as much as I would like this month, but I have been able to fill up some more stars.

Again, in overhead light they look invisible, but having snow days means I can photograph in daylight and see how clear they are. Big G never ceases to amaze.

Once everything settles down, I can’t wait to be able to get back into it and start rotating my areas. As always, thanks so much for all your kind suggestions. It’s wonderful to have all that wisdom behind you!

Now, you know the drill. We post every 3 weeks, and everyone has a different project to show. Now scamper along and look!

Next post on the 25th, so we’ll see you then!

Much love xx

  1. it’s rather a shame those stars don’t “pop” a bit more on the dark background grey – will there be backstitch, maybe metallic? to make them show up a bit more?

    1. I thought that. They don’t show up as well as the picture suggests. No backstitching for the whole thing! Unless I’m missing something somewhere. I guess it’ll be a case of seeing the whole finished product and making a decision from there.

      1. out of curiosity, I went back to the first post when you showed the cover photo – so now I see what the overall effect will be and your progress photo makes complete sense ^^

  2. A nice piece of motivation to finish a motif, even when it is small! That always seems to spur me on. Wishing you some very lovely evening stitching sessions as you get used to your new schedule.😄

  3. Nice to being filling in the stars making the whole background sections complete! Well done on this progress 😀 Do you highlight your completed stitches in your pattern? How do you keep track?

      1. Now that I have outlines and only filling in one color, I have no need to mark. But generally, I like using a highlighter 😊 When I get back to my full coverage UFO, I’ll be highlighting confetti again!

  4. Wow, those stars are subtle! Bet it was fun to just fill them in though, especially with so much else going on in your life. Well done to have something to show this time around!

  5. I love how the stars are subtle — almost a texture more than a color shift, if you know what I mean. I also went back to look at the pattern over and WOW it’s so amazing! I love the wee Link, Mega Man, and Mario!
