Ah, one of my favourite days of the month. SAL day. Let’s crack on shall we?
Here’s where I was last time..
Here’s where I am now.
As promised, I’ve been working on the heart, and I’m pleased to say it’s finished!
Well, all apart from one square in the very middle. Yet again it’s a case of one colour that I can’t find anywhere else on my working pages. I was tempted to scour the rest of the pattern to find more of the same, but far too much effort and counting. I’m happy as it is for the moment. With all the detailing on the heart edging it’s like the heart jumps off the canvas at you. I’m constantly surprised and pleased at how the finished results come out for Big G.
I’ve also been working on the star and + sigh underneath as I had some time left over. It’s nice to see them filling up and actually taking shape.
Most of this work has been only a square or two, then I’ve had to find the colour elsewhere and work on that. This has meant that I’ve worked a tiny amount of background..
.. some cheek..
.. bits of frill..
.. and some middle swirls.
While I’m enjoying focussing on one section, I can feel that the majority of Big G will be like this. But it’s nice. Keeps me entertained. Even if it does make progress very sloooow.
As the list dictates, I’ll keep working on the star and + sign for next time. Some of you may have read that I’ll be on holiday(!) for next update, so I’ll be posting from beyond the grave.. No, not what I mean. From foreign lands? Much better. I’ll try and answer any comments while I’m away, but will have a big catch up when I’m home.
Now it’s time for my dutiful urge for you to go and have a look at the other projects on display. Go on, you know you want to. The gent and ladies have been doing some amazing stitching and deserve you time and wonder. Here’s the list. I’m also sending all my love and hopes for Susan who is poorly.
Avis,Claire, Gun, Carole, LucyAnn, Kate, Jess, Sue, Constanze, Debbierose, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Helen, Steph, Linda, Catherine, Wendy, Mary Margaret, Timothy
See you on the 4th June!

Lovely developments. I’ve been tip-toeing around the Etsy shop you got this from, and am fascinated by the bookshelves in the same section Gamer Girl is from. But unless I find a supply of 48-hour days somewhere, I’ll do my best to resist, since I have too many things on my plate as is!

It is a wonderful shop! Not to be an enabler, but I think you should. The book shelves are lovely. Time is the factor though. Not sure I realised how big a project it was until it arrived at the front door.

I love looking at your sal updates. It’s like a very complicated game of spot the difference. I did notice the heart /star straight away though 🙂
Have a wonderful holiday.

I do so admire you for taking on this huge piece. I’d find it agonising to work this way, which I guess is why I do what I do, and you produce epic pieces like this!

Well it hasn’t been produced yet. Still so long to go.

The heart looks lovely and you can definitely see that you’ve been busy on the rest of it. It’s going to be amazing when it’s finished.

There will come a day when all of a sudden things seem to be filled in, even though you’ve done the same amount of work all these sessions. The heart looks great, I’m sure it does give you a lift to see how nice it is and Spurs you onward! You are doing great! Such a huge project this is.😊

I love the heart! It definitely is not worth all the counting to get the color to another section. Every time I try to do that I miscount 🙂
